At the conclusion of this education activity, participants should be able to:

- Recognize some of the rare diseases and rare manifestations of rheumatic diseases, as well as treatment approaches to such cases.
- Demonstrate how to address and treat more complicated patients within specific areas of rheumatology, including patients who are refractory to treatments and patients with challenging diagnostic dilemmas.
- Recognize treatment options available for patients with gout, understand which patients are candidates for more aggressive treatment, and recognize implications of newer treatments including potential adverse events and mitigation strategies.
