An Immunology Boot Camp
Greetings from your NCRA board! We hope that everyone had a relaxing and restful holiday season. 2019 is already here and there is a lot going on.
As the inaugural blog for the new and improved NCRA website, I want to make everyone aware of an amazing CME/learning opportunity coming up in February 2019. The course is entitled 7th Annual Basic and Clinical Immunology for the Busy Clinician: What is New and Hot in Immunology (An Immunology Boot Camp). This course is definitely for everyone that wants to brush up on their immunology skills and it includes 10.5 hours of top notch teaching in a place that will help with the winter blues – Scottsdale, AZ.
The course takes place over 2 days – Friday and Saturday, 15 and 16 February 2019. Topics include Translational Advances in Lupus/Vasculitis/Inflammatory Arthritis, the Microbiome in Health and Disease, Autoimmune Manifestations of Cancer Treatment, What’s new in JAKs/IL6 and much more. The course is directed by Dr. Leonard Calabrese and features other nationally known speakers including Dr. Anthony Fernandez, Dr. M. Elaine Husni, Dr. R. John Looney, Dr. William Rigby, Dr. Gregg Silverman and Dr. Vibeke Strand.
The above topics will prove to be invaluable as we continue to move further into the arena of biologic/immune therapy for rheumatologic diseases. Also, I am sure that this 2 day trip to Arizona will definitely help with some of those tricky, basic science questions on the ABIM Rheumatology Recertification Exam.
